MG Ex-S Gundam / S Gundam (後篇)

同樣在 AE社的鋼彈開發計畫中，MSA-0011 S Gundam “論資排輩”為第九名，於是得到 Ι = Iota Gundam 的內部稱號，UC 0087年格里普斯戰役後的0088年，當 AEUG的 Argama隊在對抗返回地球圈的 Neo Zeon軍時，地球聯邦軍另外組織了 “ α特殊任務部隊 = Task Force Alpha” 前往資源小行星 Pezun 討伐已遭解散的 Titans殘黨軍”New Desides“，本機就是該部隊中機體最新駕駛最菜的一員。

本機不僅與 ZZ Gundam 有著差不多的開發時間，連開發主軸也非常相近：擁有中長程壓制用的超高火力、可以換裝以強化機體性能並應付不同戰場需求、有特殊系統輔助操作(ZZ有 Bio-Sensor，S 有 A.L.I.C.E.)、測試合體變形機構，目標是增加運用彈性與駕駛員的生存率…等等。

只看外型的話並不是壯碩型，但是發電機出力與引擎推力等等都不小於 ZZ，武裝方面有數門 Beam Cannon、最大出力匹敵 ZZ頭部 Hi-Mega Cannon 的 Beam Smart Gun、頭上的準感應兵器 INCOM，論”輸出”能力甚至在以強大火力為傲的 ZZ之上。(所以在當年剛開始認識它的時候，覺得這也設定得太唬爛了吧 XD

ＺＺ後期有各方面能力都更上一層樓的 Full Armor 強化案，Ｓ鋼彈也準備了 Extraordinary 裝備，有胸、腹、左右小腿、左右背包、左右增裝燃料槽共八處，大槍再裝上 RADOME Disc，制式名稱改為 MSA-0011[ExT] Ex-S Gundam –對比 Full Armor ZZ 是 ZZ的延伸，大家都認為 Ex-S 才是 S 的完全體！

裝上那些裝備後，原本覺得有點怪異又有點不協調的部位，頓時變得稍微怪異卻超帥氣的機體，招牌站姿再把大砲架在前面，真的真的太好看了，因此人氣更是高上許多倍；不過在 Ex-S 形態時無法分離，變形會從三台飛行器改為 G-Cruiser 型態。

這次的重製版套件當中，ExT 裝備好像都並未更新，但是完全不影響整體的好表現；把玩 S鋼彈幾天後再照相記錄下來，正式改裝成雄偉的 Ex-S….特別是這傢伙的頭、胸、肩這部分，真的沒有任何機體能跟 Ex-S 相比啦，不管從精細複雜威風魄力各方面來看都接近滿分，然而超巨大背包使得它不可能自立站著，連組裝過程都得卡在專用支架上進行，而且怎麼動都會有部位出現干涉，於是在把玩方面確實無可發揮….ＢＵＴ，它是 Ex-S耶，這樣就夠帥夠滿足了。

上次玩本機體的變形已經是好久前的事了，早已沒甚麼印象，於是這次好好去感受此精密精準精確的變形機制，用了將近一小時變形成 G-Cruiser 型態，在過程中欣賞那些絕妙的設計–這無疑是鋼普拉史上最複雜的變形機制，真的非常麻煩！即使從它首次登場過去將近二十年了，仍然沒有挑戰者出現。

這 G-Cruiser 的外型好不好看是見仁見智，但整個變型過程中的感受應該差異不大：滿滿設計者的巧思！相信從原設定 Katoki開始，就已經將 “有一天做成鋼普拉之後，在變形過過程中會遇到的問題與需求” 都考慮進去了，而Bandai的設計師也很稱職地將此任務完成，各個部位在摺疊或連結的位置、定位點、固定卡榫等等都準確無比，變形前後兩型態都有超高的完成度，絲毫不會給玩家有舊設計的感覺，說真的過程有點煩但是又感覺很爽。
